Hello, This Is Florence

Guided Tours

City Tours

As a tour guide, I don’t just share learned information with my guests but also lend them the lens through which I see the world — specifically Florence and Tuscany. My primary goal during tours is to provide an unforgettable experience because every traveler seeks something unique and special that they can recall at home, remembering its taste, touch, sight, and story.

I believe in personalized tours, so I fully respect my guests’ requests and preferences. Naturally, the must-see attractions that have made each city famous are always part of the itinerary. However, whenever possible, I like to add a touch of excitement within the given framework — tastings, less frequented locations, hidden workshops, anecdotes, and legends.

Feel free to contact me, tell me how you envision your adventure in the Tuscan towns, and I will help make your vision a reality.

Gastronomy

Who wouldn’t be curious about the local culinary specialties in the country they are visiting? Intentionally or not, travelers encounter new flavors, taste things they’ve never tried before, or notice that familiar ingredients are used differently here.

The global fame of Italian cuisine is no accident — everyone knows pizza, the countless ways to prepare pasta, delicious desserts, and gelato.

These are usually part of any visit; almost every tourist enjoys at least one pizza while staying here.

But what about local gastronomy? Is there such a thing as Florentine or Tuscan cuisine? Are there dishes unique to this region that you won’t find elsewhere in Italy? If so, why these particular ones? What are their stories? How did they develop? What do they taste like? What are the key ingredients?

These are the questions I answer during my gastronomic tours, as we explore flavors together.

This can be part of a sightseeing walk or enjoyed over lunch or dinner in a downtown restaurant offering authentic Tuscan cuisine, for both individual and group guests.

Questions and Answers

Absolutely! Sometimes I guide families, other times couples, and occasionally even solo travelers.

I’ve worked with many families with children. Sometimes it’s just one child, other times as many as five, with the youngest being only six months old. I’ve even helped with diaper changes – haha! I usually manage to capture the children’s attention, and in my experience, they remember more than you’d think, even when it doesn’t seem that way.

This is actually when a guide is most useful, as the tours are tailored to your needs. We go at a comfortable pace and stop as often as necessary.

The minimum is 3 hours, and the maximum is 6 hours (a full day with a lunch break).

The tours are always customized based on individual preferences. However, typically we see Florence’s most famous landmarks from the outside, such as the Cathedral, Baptistery, Dante’s birthplace, Palazzo Vecchio (City Hall), Piazza della Signoria, the Porcellino statue, Ponte Vecchio, and Palazzo Pitti. This tour also includes the “Hello. Itt Firenze” gift package.
We can discuss program details over the phone if needed.

3-hour tour = 3-hour program + phone consultation + gift package

The 4-hour tour is more relaxed, allowing us to visit hidden, less-known but exciting places, possibly even entering some.
This tour also includes the “Hello. Itt Firenze” gift package.

4-hour tour = 4-hour program + phone consultation + gift package

The full-day tour consists of a morning and an afternoon session. In the morning, we usually explore the main attractions from the outside, then have lunch together at Sabrina’s restaurant, where authentic Tuscan dishes are served. After the lunch break (1 hour, not included in the 6 hours), we continue exploring the city. We can either keep walking or visit a museum, with the Uffizi Gallery being a popular choice.
A phone consultation is also available upon request.

6-hour tour = customized 6-hour program with lunch break + online lecture series from the webshop + phone consultation

Yes. Visiting the Uffizi usually takes about 2.5 hours. For the remaining time (since I typically offer a minimum 3-hour tour), we can explore the building and its surroundings or I can share stories from the museum’s rooftop terrace.

During peak periods like Easter, my calendar fills up quickly. So I recommend booking as soon as your accommodation and general itinerary are confirmed.

Yes! I often guide tours in Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa, and Lucca. Siena can be requested on its own, but it’s usually combined with San Gimignano as a full-day program. Pisa and Lucca are available only as part of a full-day tour.

It can indeed get very hot during pre-booked tours. However, this doesn’t have to ruin your experience. We can start earlier if possible, and take breaks as often as needed for drinks, restroom stops, or rest. There are plenty of cool churches, air-conditioned cafés, and water fountains. In the hottest months, we usually spend the afternoon visiting museums.

The meeting point is flexible. Sometimes we start at the hotel, other times near a parking area, at the Uffizi entrance, or even at a café.

Good question! I’m always grateful for the trust my guests place in me when they entrust part of their vacation to me. You can get to know me in several ways:

  • Read reviews from previous guests on my website: www.hellofirenze.net
  • Check out the “Reviews” section on my Facebook page, where you’ll find 264 five-star reviews: www.facebook.com/firenzevelem
  • Watch videos on my YouTube channel (Hello. Itt Firenze) for a glimpse of who I am.

In cash on-site or via bank transfer.

Under Italian regulations, the invoice must include the buyer’s name, address, and tax identification number. I issue electronic invoices, which I send via email.

Since the tours are customized, they can certainly include discovering local gastronomy, tastings, and market visits upon request.

I do not have a license for accommodation brokerage. Since every visitor has different needs, financial possibilities, and interests, I recommend booking accommodation individually.

Due to limited capacity, itinerary planning or program recommendations are only available for guests who book a guided tour. Thank you for your understanding!
